July 8, 2019 to August 15, 2019
Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 with students
Compensation: $30/hr. for certified teachers $25/hr. for non-certified teachers Instructors for Small Group

Instructors are responsible for targeting and maintaining IEP goals and objectives for students in the Language Based, CAP and Inclusion programs, who would demonstrate substantial regression in ELA and Math without summer support. Instructors will be responsible for planning interesting and stimulating activities that incorporate specific ELA and Math skills. Middle School and High School programs will also be responsible for addressing summer reading assignments. A transition prep curriculum for incoming 6th/9th graders will be incorporated into the Small Group Instruction for appropriate groups. Instructors for Small Group Instructors will be responsible for arrival, dismissal.

Instructors of Small Group Instruction will be responsible to write a brief progress report for each student participant. Progress reports will be written in collaboration with other specialists related to IEP goals targeted during the extended school year period.

Additional Requirements:

Preference will be given to individuals applying with DESE Special Education Licensure and current WPS employees.

Candidate should have familiarity with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks incorporating strategies for modifying curriculum for students functioning at diverse levels.

Successful candidates will collaborate with therapists, special educators, and teachers operating the extended day portion of the program to ensure coordinated service delivery.

Candidates should have experience supporting students with disabilities including cognitive, physical, and emotional disabilities. Students may require support around academic, therapeutic, social, or personal care (toileting, dressing, or eating) activities.

Employment is dependent on student enrollment and attendance.
