Job Description:

The Learning Experience Adult Program has been created to allow student involvement and interaction within their community. This program is designed to increase student knowledge of basic academic skills as well as activities of daily living. Functional in its approach, students move toward the world of employment or continued education upon graduation. Instructional support and direct instruction in specific content areas are provided on a daily basis. Appropriate social skills are also encouraged and taught. Progress reports for students on IEPs will be written in collaboration with other specialists reporting student learning and progress or maintenance related to IEP goals.

DESE certification in Special Education

Both teachers and Instructional Assistants will be responsible for student arrival, dismissal, and transitioning to and from related services when necessary.

Additional Requirements:

Candidates should have experience supporting students with disabilities including cognitive, physical, and emotional disabilities. Students may require support around academic, therapeutic, social, or personal care (toileting, dressing, or eating) activities. Successful candidates will collaborate with teachers, therapists, and extended day staff when appropriate, to ensure coordinated service delivery.

Employment is dependent on student enrollment and attendance.
