Observe, provide feedback, and evaluate select teachers (as determined by Principal), including regular monthly meetings with each teacher to reflect on observations to develop teachers' conceptual understanding of what students must know and be able to do and what methods drive student mastery
Lead analysis of student discipline data to support the development of a strong school culture that supports excellent academic outcomes for all students
Serve as the proxy for the Principal in the Principal's absence
Oversee multiple departments within the school and ensure alignment of those departments to support school culture and academic achievement
Maintain close communication and partnership with the Principal to ensure achievement of CoaH's mission and goals
Work with the Principal to develop and deliver professional development workshops that drive highest-impact improvements in teacher practice
Serve as Director of Summer School
Additional duties, as assigned by the Principal

Required Qualifications

Belief that every student, regardless of background, can and must achieve academically at high levels
Flexibility and resourcefulness in pursuit of results
Demonstrable understanding and experience with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practices
Bachelors Degree
3 years of related urban education experience
Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree
Massachusetts Licensure in Principal/Vice Principal 9-12

    Who We Are

    • A 280-seat charter public high school in the Dudley Square neighborhood of Roxbury, MA.
    • City on a Hill graduates responsible, resourceful, and respectful democratic citizens prepared for college and to advance community, culture, and commerce, and to compete in the 21st century.
    • CoaH students are admitted by random lottery in the 9th grade only. For the 2012 lottery held in March, there were 880 applications for approximately 90 seats.
    Who We Serve
    • City on a Hill students come to us from all across the city, but primarily come from the Dorchester, Hyde Park, Mattapan, and Roxbury neighborhoods of Boston.
    • CoaH students like to be here: this year’s daily attendance rate is 94.3%.
    Some Recent Key Organizational Achievements:
    • In 2011, when comparing growth from 8th grade to 10th grade on the math MCAS exam, CoaH came in fourth of the 339 high schools measured in Massachusetts.
    • CoaH has been re-accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and is currently the only accredited charter high school in Boston.
    • Since the first graduating class of 1998, 100% of City on a Hill graduates have been accepted to college.
