Job Description

o To coordinate the program of instruction for all grades Pre-K through six;
o To develop, recommend, and implement researched based teaching methods, procedures and practices;
o To approve, support, and implement the delivery of services, in collaboration with the Administrator of Special Education, to children with Individualized Education Plans;
o To evaluate the effectiveness of all personnel in the school and to re-employ or discharge school personnel;
o To assign teachers and other school personnel to various duties;
o To develop professional development programs for staff;
o To assist in the planning and implementation of curriculum development and revision;
o To supervise the school’s discipline program and implementation of curriculum development and revision;
o To supervise the school’s testing program, consistent with district and state policies;
o To supervised the record keeping system for all students;
o To attract and retain the most qualified teachers;
o To serve as co-chair of the school’s council and develop an annual School Improvement Plan;
o To assess the budgetary needs of the school and recommend an annual budget to the Superintendent of Schools;
o To demonstrate and model educational excellence through instructional leadership.

    Job Requirements

    • Qualifications:
      o Must hold appropriate Massachusetts Licensure for Principal/Assistant Principal;
      o Experience as a successful educational leader;
      o A minimum of 5 years as a successful teacher;
      o Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Education;
      o Knowledge and experience with supervision and evaluation, curriculum development, scheduling and personnel management;
      o Effective communication skills;
      o Innovative, motivational and collaborative leadership style;
      o Committed to Educational Excellence.
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
