Job Description

The Burlington School District Transportation Department has an immediate opening for a School Bus Aide. Experience in early childhood is preferred but not mandatory. Training is provided by the program.

 

The aide rides on the bus with the bus driver and is responsible for helping students boarding and exiting the bus. All students are required to wear seat belts or integrated car seats. Some students will need help getting buckled in safely. Monitoring student behavior is also a main job duty.

 

This position also serves a backup school bus driver in the event the regularly scheduled driver is not available. CDL Bus Endorsement is a requirement for permanent employment, however, BSD will offer training and support for an individual to receive any such required school bus licensure.

 

This is a full time school year position. Must be able to pass a background check. EOE
