Human Resources Generalist - Private Special Education School Programs

The Center School, a part of the Positive Regard Network, seeks a Human Resources Generalist, who enjoys work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment. The successful candidate will, in conjunction with our Director of Administrative Operations and Human Resources Manager, assist with facilitation of Human Resources policies, programs and processes for the entire Network. This includes: organizational planning, organizational development, recruiting, employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, safety and health, and employee services.

Position is Full Time, 52 weeks per year. Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Position Responsibilities:

- Serves as customer service contact for employee requests and questions. Provides necessary education and materials to employees on HR/Payroll related topics through trainings, assistance with locating information in Employee Guidelines and Employee Self-Service portal, standardized reports, forms, documents, employment verification requests, etc.

- Identifies legal requirements and governmental reporting regulations affecting Human Resources function (e.g. ACA, OSHA, EEO, ERISA, Wage & Hour). Maintains and prepares information/reports requested or required for compliance. Coordinates and tracks FMLA, SNLA, MPLA. Assists with ADA requests/tracking. Serves as back-up to Worker’s Compensation Coordinator.

- Coordinates recruitment/interview/hiring processes. Maintains Applicant Flow tracking. Coordinates, schedules and performs interviews; assists with background investigations; provides candidate communications throughout the hiring process.

- Maintains Human Resources related information in HRIS/Payroll system and tracking databases, including entry of all new hire information, E-Verify processing, assembly of new hire files and coordination of follow-up efforts to ensure all associated documentation is provided and all employee requirements are met at appropriate intervals. Assists with employee transfer and termination processes in HRIS/Payroll system and tracking databases.

- Coordinates Benefit Enrollment process. Creates and distributes enrollment packets for newly eligible employees throughout the year. Maintains tracking system for timely return of required forms/documentation. Coordinates schedules for annual Open Enrollment meetings for health/dental plans and Supplemental Insurance. Develops and maintains vendor relationships to assist in providing support to employees with regard to benefits related questions or concerns.

- Represents school at job fairs, conferences, agency meetings, community events, etc.

- As part of Human Resources team, provides recommendations for Human Resources policies and objectives for the entire company.

- Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.

- Protects interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.

    Job Requirements

    • Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field, and one to three years of demonstrated experience in Human Resources, preferably working within educational programs. Strong organizational skills, attention-to-detail, time management and interpersonal skills required. Experience with HRIS/Payroll software highly preferred. HRCI or SHRM Certification preferred.
