Job Description

Head Start is seeking a Family Partnerships Assistant.   

 

Position Summary

Responsible for supporting parent education through parent meetings, home visits, workshops, and family partnership agreements. Assists in advocating for families and promoting self-sufficiency. Assists in recruiting program volunteers, in the recruitment and enrollment of children, and in implementing parent activities.

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Builds rapport with families and acts as an advocate.
  • Makes home visits to assess family strengths, goals, and needs. Completes family partnership agreements and provides follow-up with families via home visits, phone calls, and group activities to promote partnership and regular communication
  • Documents and tracks parent participation and family outcomes.
  • Assists with recruitment and enrollment of children.
  • Assists with parent meetings and workshops.
  • Assists with child transportation as requested.
  • Assists with preparation of family handbook/community resource manual.
  • Attends meetings, workshops, and conferences as requested.
  • Recruits and trains program volunteers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and working towards an AA or AAS.
  • Experience or background in family and children support services preferred.
  • Must hold or be prepared to earn a Universal Precautions, Standard First Aid and Infant and Child CPR card.
