This is a Part Time Position. ASE hours are Monday-Friday 2:45pm-6:00pm. Hourly Rate: $34.80

Milton Community Schools is searching for three part time Registered Nurses to oversee the health and safety of students served by our After School Enrichment Programs. Three locations: Glover, Tucker and Collicot/Cunningham schools. He/she will coordinate and administer care for students and liaise with parents and staff as needed.

• Provide first aid and illness assessment for students enrolled in after school program
• Triage medical emergencies, provide appropriate care and make medical referrals, as necessary.
• Administer medications following Milton Public Schools and Massachusetts Department of Public Health medication administration policies.
• Provide telephone triage / consultation to other Milton Public Schools After School Programs with possible travel to other sites, as needed.
• Collaborate with parents regarding student health issues and updates in student health needs.
• Collaborate with building school nurse regarding student health issues and updates in student health needs.
• Maintain constant communication with the After School Program Supervisors, Assistant Supervisor and Director to discuss student health concerns and emergency healthcare plans.
• Provide EpiPen Training for After School Program staff.
• Maintain required documentation regarding student health office visits and medication administration .
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Available to work Monday through Friday 2:45pm-6:00pm on regular school days
Available to work on Early Release Days 12:00pm-6:00pm
Available to work 9 hours per day during school vacations and summer program (8:30am-5:30pm)

    Job Requirements

    • Job Requirements
      • A valid, current Massachusetts license for practice as a Registered Nurse and First Aid certified..
      • 2+ years of professional experience in school nursing or a related field preferred.
      • Experience as a school nurse preferred; preference given to candidates with pediatric expertise
      • Availability during school vacation (Winter and Spring break) and district wide Early Release Days.
      • All prospective staff will be required to undergo background checks and fingerprinted
    • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
