Springboard Schools in Sudbury, MA is expanding! We have exciting opportunities for Infant, Toddler and Preschool Assistant Teachers!

We have been serving the social-emotional and education needs of children since 1987. As a leader in early childhood, we believe in play-based, experiential learning. We are looking for professional, creative and nurturing EEC Certified teachers who are passionate about working with children.

The Position
We are seeking passionate and dynamic educators who are looking for an opportunity to teach in our infant, toddler and preschool classrooms! If you enjoy connecting and working with young children and their families, please apply!

The ideal candidate:
• is interested in becoming EEC certified and has experience working with children
• is patient and able to work with young children
• is able to follow directions from the center director and other administrators, but also able to take initiative and work independently within the school’s guidelines and policies.
• is an excellent communicator (with children, staff and parents)
• is respectful, punctual and has strong work ethic

• Full-Time Position with Flexible Opening and Closing Hours

Duties and Responsibilities
• Help implement the curriculum
• Implement activities, if desired, under the direct supervision of a teacher
• Maintain a clean, attractive and interesting room for children to learn
• He/she shall be familiarized with all emergency procedures for the center
• Participate in all center activities
• Inform the lead teacher of anything they would like to contribute to the newsletter, curriculum, or interest areas
• Maintain a professional, friendly relationship with children and their families
• All child issues are to be discussed between lead teacher/teacher and parents
• Assistant teachers are only responsible for greeting parents and children and to represent a friendly relationship
• Assist with diapering and toileting
• Assistant teachers parent communication is limited to a general “hello, how are you,” and informing parents about general activities. Specific questions, such as those regarding a certain child, center issues, or advice are directed toward teachers and lead teachers.
• Interact with children with conversations and questions. Assistant teachers are not allowed to stand over children and supervise from a distance. Assistant teachers are expected to place themselves based on children’s needs and not adult needs.
• Disciplining is to be left to teachers and lead teachers, unless a situation arises that you need to intervene. Do so in a positive way.
• Children’s needs are a priority over adult conversation
