Job Description

The South Shore Charter Public School seeks a temporary High School Long Term Special Education Substitute Teacher for approximately two months (January 2019-Feb 2019) to cover an FMLA leave. At SSCPS, teachers are called on to model independent thinking, problem-solving, and creative collaboration. To thrive at SSCPS, you should be prepared to work with other teachers who are well-grounded in their subject matter and willing to be involved in out-of-class activities while supervising students. In facilitating discussions, teachers here are eager to help students formulate their own conclusions rather than lead students to uncover the teacher’s conclusion. Teachers here invite students to take initiative in group work or projects by creating an atmosphere stimulating enough to inspire them and supportive enough for them to recognize learning opportunities from their own mistakes and errors.

    • Experience working with students in the classroom or learning environment
