Job Description:
The School Psychologist serves as a counselor to students from Pre-K to grade 3. The Psychologist provides direct services to students and collaborates with teachers, families and service providers. The position also includes responsibilities for coordinating support services in the classroom. The School Psychologist reports to the Associate Head of School for Program & Instruction.

Job Duties:
Provide direct services to students through short term/group/individual counseling and/or social skills trainings.
Consult on appropriate crisis intervention support and intervene with students who experience emergent needs during the school day.
Collaborate and consult with families, faculty/staff and service providers regarding mental health, behavioral and educational concerns of students.
Coordinate broad base support for students, in collaboration with school administrators, families, teachers and community-based mental health professionals.
Connect students and families to community agencies that support students’ social and emotional needs outside the scope of the school counseling program.
Build teachers’ capacity for addressing the social and emotional needs of students.
Coordinate support services for students.
Ensure accurate and appropriate record keeping and reporting.

Master’s Degree.
Certification as LMHC, LICSW or School Psychologist.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a K-8 school or equivalent environment.
Ability to interpret psychological and neuropsychological/cognitive testing.
Knowledgeable about/ability to conform to state and school-wide regulations and guidelines regarding student records and responding to inquiries/complaints.
Knowledgeable of Social Emotional Learning curriculum, i.e. Second Step, Responsive Classroom, Open Circle, preferred, but not required.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift 50 pounds.
