Job Description

Provide direct and consultative therapeutic and evaluative services for the
diagnostic, preventative and interventive purposes in the school setting.

The BCBA conducts descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, and provides
behavior analytic interpretations of the result. The BCBA teaches others to carry out ethical and
effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers
instruction in behavior analysis. The following outline of the role and responsibilities is intended
to provide a broad overview, but is subject to change according to the needs of the school
district, as required by the Superintendent of Schools/Special Education Director.

- Develop/assist with individual behavior management programs for students in the classroom inclusion or separate setting.
- Provide staff training and development around principles of ABA.
- Engage in social-behavioral elements of annual IEP process (attendance at Team mtgs,updating of PLEP B, update of current performance data, development of goals/benchmarks, progress reports, annual summary, etc.) as needed.
- Provide program/individual staff consultation on development/implementation of Discrete Trials curriculum and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Attend consultation meetings with classroom teachers/related service providers/paraprofessional staff.
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
- Review required BIP and Discrete Trial programs with new employees.
- Assist school-based staff with development of Discrete Trial Programming.
- Plan and implement Home Training programs. Provide consultation to parents and Home Training/Behavior Interventionist staff.
- Assist in training Paraprofessionals (1:1 service providers)
- Conduct Home Needs Assessments
- Perform other duties as requested by the building principal, the Coordinator of Special Education, or the Director of Pupil Services, within the scope of job description.
