Job Description

Cathedral 7-12 High School seeks to fill an immediate vacancy for an English Language Arts Teacher for middle school grades 7 and 8. The ideal candidate for the position has experience with English Language Arts (ELA) instruction, the student-centered learning model, personalized learning, urban education, is collaborative, and speaks a second language.

JOB GOALS:


To effectively provide student-centered English Language Arts instruction.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


Teach English Language Arts courses for all grades, but primarily for grades 7 and 8.
Attend department and curriculum meetings to support student outcomes

QUALIFICATIONS:


Required:
Certification in Middle or Secondary English

Preferred:
Experienced classroom teacher
Experience working with urban youth
Speaks another language

REPORTS TO: Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School year

START DATE: Immediate

SALARY: Negotiated based upon experience
