Job Description

Portsmouth School Department is seeking substitute teachers for grades Pre K-12. Portsmouth School District has one (1) high school, one (1) middle school, and two (2) elementary schools.

Interested candidates must bring to the interview:

1. Valid teaching certificate or Bachelor's Degree from accredited institution (official transcripts only no copies will be accepted)
2. License & social security card OR passport for I-9 verification.
3. Current Resume with three contact references.

      A current National background check is required in order to begin substitute teaching. Check with your local police department for hours. You will be fingerprinted and a search of statewide criminal history will be initiated. Fingerprints will then be forwarded for a national criminal history check.
