Job Description

The League School of Greater Boston is a year-round program dedicated to the education of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Our team approach to education creates a collaborative, supportive and open environment within our community. We are currently seeking an ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST to start immediately.

    Job Requirements

    • Position Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
    • Valid Teaching license in Massachusetts required (any discipline; Moderate or Severe Disabilities preferred).
    • CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications.
    • Valid driver’s license.

      Supervision Received: Facilities Manager
      Supervision Exercised: none

      Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

      1. Implements lessons and tasks associated with assistive technology according to Individualized Education Programs (IEP) within the classrooms/school community.
      2. Consults with Head Teachers/Teachers with regard to assistive technology used in classrooms.
      3. Consults on hardware, software, and application selection and demonstration.
      4. Trains and supports Head Teachers/Teachers in effective instructional technique(s) using assistive technology.
      5. Collaborates with parents and Speech & Language Pathologists when appropriate.
      6. Locates and reviews information necessary for purchase of recommended equipment.
      7. Conducts assessments and prepares written reports.
      8. Attends IEP meetings as needed.
      9. Plans and delivers training sessions on assistive technology for individuals or small groups, as needed.
      10. Additional duties as assigned by Facilities Manager or Executive Director.





      Computer Skills:
      To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and a wide variety of adaptive technology applications (software and hardware).
