ANNOUNCEMENT OF ANTICIPATED VACANCY FOR THE
2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR

Temporary College & Career Coordinator
DISTRICT WIDE

NOVEMBER 6, 2018 THROUGH MARCH 21, 2018

Job Goal:
The College & Career Project Coordinator will temporarily serve as the point person for a variety of necessary college and career programs and projects.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee SAT Prep programs Let’s Get Ready & Kaplan Test Prep.
• Coordinate interviews at SHS for students applying to Harvard University and Tufts University.
• Oversee recruitment and applications for special programs and scholarships (i.e. Crimson Summer Academy, Christian Herter Scholarship, Posse Scholars, Noonan Scholars, etc.).
• Oversee field trip processes for trips to Tufts, National College Fair, and other college tours (complete paperwork with Principal and nurse, recruit students and collect permission slips, book buses, communicate with chaperones).
• Manage Bunker Hill Dual Enrollment process: work with BHCC liaison, communicate with students about opportunities, communicate with counselors, assist counselors with applications and necessary follow-up.
• Manage Tufts Course Audit process: work with Tufts liaison, interested students/families, and counselor.
• Provide support to staff with college recommendations and Naviance website.
• Manage communication with students and families about college and career opportunities and processes via email, mail, and morning announcements.
• Serve as liaison for uAspire College Affordability Advisor.
• Work with 8th grade counselor educators in scheduling spring trips to Tufts University.
• Oversee logistics for X Block counselor meetings and ensure that all parties (counselors, staff, and students) have the information they need about the meetings.
• Oversee the First Generation Student Union meetings: work with students in the group to facilitate meetings and communicate with staff.
• Assist SHS Registrar in tasks for Advanced Placement Exams as necessary.
• Coordinate a plan for the Accuplacer exam for seniors planning to attend BHCC
• Other projects related to college and career readiness as outlined by Director College & Career Readiness.
• Communicate regularly with School Counseling Director at SHS about ongoing CCR projects.


Qualifications:
• Strong project-management and communication skills
• Interest in and willingness to learn about College & Career Readiness processes at SPS

Terms of Employment:
Stipend: $3,000 (up to 120 hrs @ $25/hour). Stipend could be split between two positions
