ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY FOR THE
2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR

Special Education Tutors
Next Wave / Full Circle


Job Goal: The Somerville Public Schools is now accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Special Education Tutors. Tutors generally work with small groups of students. Tutors are expected to work with classroom teachers to coordinate learning and to track progress.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree;
• Experience teaching or working with students with special needs;
• Computer skills – Word /Excel program to assist in scheduling and tracking students;
• Demonstrated success in motivating and reaching all students in curriculum learning;
• Demonstrated ability to individualize instruction based on assessment data and identified student needs;
• Massachusetts D.E.S.E License is preferred.

Terms of Employment:
• Pay: $25.00 per hour / Up to maximum of 18 hours per week; during school hours
