Job Description

The Bi-County Collaborative is seeking to hire teachers with Special Education Certification in Moderate Special Needs K - 12 for our Therapeutic Elementary, Middle and High School Programs and teachers for our K-12 Intensive continuum for students with severe special needs.
Bi-County Collaborative offers high quality, specialized educational programs for students with varying abilities and challenges. Bi-County programs are located in 11 of member districts in both in district public school settings and in 2 approved public days school settings.
Programming for students focuses on academic and therapeutic related services addressing each student's unique needs. Resources for social-emotional learning, academics, speech & language, occupational therapy, physical therapy, behavioral services, orientation & mobility, vision services, community and transition activities are all incorporated into student programs based on each student's IEP. Positions are available now and for the 2018-2019 school year.

    Job Requirements

    • Teachers at BICO provide:

      -Provide positive behavioral support programs as appropriate for each population

      -Provide social skills training to enable students to interact with peers and adults in an appropriate manner

      -Provide instruction for diverse learning styles

      -Administer and interpret appropriate education evaluations

      -Work on a multi-disciplinary team to support teaching and learning within the assigned program

      -Collaborate with administrators, teachers, related service providers and parents to support student progress and needs

      -Provide appropriate curriculum, instruction, and assessment to address student goals and objectives

      -Assess student progress, collect & analyze student data, and work together with colleagues to use data for decisions about further instruction

      -Contribute to the professional culture at BICO to encourage and engage in ongoing adult professional learning and growth

    • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
