Job Description

Job Title: Online Learning Coordinator

Location: Wilson Middle School

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:

The Coordinator:

1. is responsible for updating and enhancing the online curriculum in order to correlate with that of Middle School.

2. must create and alter individual student accounts based on student’s needs, including student’s with IEP’s, in order to comply with accommodations

3. should ensure that each student is progressing within the curriculum by producing weekly/biweekly detailed reports on student’s progress

4. must be prepared to assist students with individual questions to help clarify information that is being presented

5. should be able to understand MCAS results in order to individualize MCAS curriculum based on student’s performance

6. is responsible for working closely with the guidance staff to schedule students in the appropriate courses and ensure appropriate course sizes

7. is responsible for keeping accurate records and posting student grades

8. is responsible for providing support to students who are accessing NovaNET at home due to hospitalizations

9. establishes an effective working relationship with classroom teachers, specialists, and administration

10. maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully certified teachers.

11. makes parents and guidance counselors aware of student progress

12. supervises TEC online courses as they become available

13. supervises online courses.


DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required.

Demonstrated interest and experience working with students and technology

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to effectively meet and deal with students, school staff and administration; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to handle stressful situations.

Displays a comfort level with using technology.

Tools and Equipment Used:
Phone console, PC and Macintosh platforms.
