Please note that this part-time, benefits eligible position is to report during the school year only (Mid August - June), and is based out of our Dudley Square location in Roxbury, Massachusetts.


Job Description:


Provide counseling services for students and students with counseling in their IEPs/504 plans

Participate in weekly SST meetings

Provide triage counseling as necessary and referrals for outside counseling for students referred by Student Support Team (SST), Head Counselor, Dean of Discipline, classroom teachers and self-selecting students in crisis

Maintain accurate records and case files

Complete documentation on daily counseling services with students and provide feedback to staff and families on student progress

Assist teachers and students in the effective creation and implementation of individual behavior plans

Observe students in classes to gain understanding of behavioral, social and academic patterns

Consult, communicate and collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators and other educational/community resources regarding students with identified concerns and needs

Additional duties, as assigned by the Head Counselor, Principal or Vice Principal


Required Qualifications

Licensed MA mental health counselor OR Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

BA or BS and two (2) or more years of experience working with urban students

Experience in behavioral interventions


Preferred Qualifications


Master's Degree

Experience working in an urban school setting
