Summit Learning Charter is a blended virtual charter school that is sponsored by the Estacada School District.  We are looking to hire a Part Time Technology Mentor Specialist to support our growing charter school and amazing school community.  Particularly, this position will support Summit's FIRST LEGO league and FIRST Tech Challenge program. Job Setting:

Summit Learning Charter is a unique Charter School specializing in virtual education blended with real-life enrichment and dual credit college programs. We are fortunate to offer a blended learning environment where we get to teach students at our on-site campus in Eagle Creek, our new off-site location in Tigard, as well as teach online from home.

 

This position will primarily be at our Eagle Creek Location and off site at challenges.

 

Necessary Skills:

Being an excellent communicator both verbally and through email is a huge requirement of this program.  

Must have excellent classroom management skills to run a safe and fun Robotics class.

Competence and experience in robotics and programing realated to FIRST LEGO and FIRST Tech Challenge.

Experience teaching and ability to differentiate instruction to a variety of skill levels.

Experience using and teaching CAD modeling.

Experience managing and maintaining 3D printers for student use.

 

 

Working as a team member in our vibrant and enthusiastic workplace/community is critical.  

Applicants must demonstrate their experiences within an educational team to support student growth.  

 

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

Skilled in plan development, implementation of learning activities, behavior management, and teaching to individual student skill levels.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing and build relationships with students, parents, and staff.

Maintain a clean and organized work/ lab environment.

Candidates must have the ability to carry and load computers and supplies.

Ability to learn new technology tools quickly (web based tools, curriculum supports, database)

A flexible and adaptable attitude, and being able to work as part of a team is a must!

Have current 1st aide card, or willingness to get one.

 

Duties will include, but not limited to: 

Developing a comprehensive robotics program

Leading STEM/ STEAM development with our teacher team

Collaborate with teacher team to build a successful robotics / STEAM program for Summit Learning Charter students

Increase accessibilty of program using virtual applications and telepresence technology 

 

Candidates should expect to fulfill the majority of duties from our school campus office (30391 SE Hwy 211, Eagle Creek Oregon) About 30 mins from Portland.

Salary range: $36,750 - $69,090
