Job Description

Cabot School is currently searching for an enthusiastic, caring and creative individual to be our next physical education and health teacher. This is a full-time (approximately 80% PE, 20% Health) position.

Core responsibilities include:
Teaching physical education courses and health courses to a Pre-K through Grade 12 rural Vermont school community.
Creating an engaging and diverse curriculum, influenced by the national SHAPE standards and local needs and resources.
Seeking opportunities for students to develop lifelong habits of fitness and wellness.
Coordinating school-day enrichment programs including Walk and Bike to School Days, our Winter Wellness Ski Program, and other opportunities that arise during the school year.
Collaborating with grade level teams to better integrate wellness activities into our evolving proficiency-based framework.
Collaborate with the school’s athletic director and town’s recreation committee to maintain the gymnasium as a shared community resource.

A Vermont Educator’s License with appropriate endorsements (or the ability to obtain one) is required, along with a passion for lifelong activity and fitness, and desire to lead and inspire youth. Training in trauma-informed educational practices that build positive school culture and community is strongly desired.
