Job Description

Winooski School District is seeking a full-time Speech & Language Pathologist for the 2018-2019 school year. Candidate is responsible for providing comprehensive speech and language evaluations and in providing direct instruction in a supportive learning environment within the district. This candidate will join two other SLPs in the district. Candidate will work closely with special educators as well as mainstream teachers.

Evidence of following criteria is required:
• Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License
• Endorsement in the subject area or eligible for Vermont Provisional License
• Documented NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher status
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Completed SchoolSpring application, including 3 letters of recommendation
• Post-graduate SLP experience
• Experience with intensive needs children
• Knowledge of research/evidenced based academic interventions for SLP
• Understanding of Vermont special education regulations for individuals with communication delays and disorders
• Current knowledge and experience with speech and language assessments and/or comprehensive evaluations

Evidence of following criteria is preferred:
• Evidence of integrating technology into the learning environment
• Experience with high and low incidence disabilities
• Technological skills used for case management
• Evidence of strong connection with students and families
• Knowledge about/experience working with high poverty students
• Training and experience with English Language Learners
• Strong communication skills as evidence through quality of resume and cover letter
• Experience with supervision/consultation
