This classification requires incumbents to have a higher level knowledge of PC applications, various computer types, peripherals, audiovisual, audio amplification equipment, hardware and customer support. Incumbents are responsible for taking calls and providing LEVEL 2 support regarding IT related issues and problems, independently handling higher level issues, imaging, and communicating with appropriate IT staff regarding more complex issues. Incumbents install and configure periferal equipment and devices. Incumbents are responsible for training, mentoring and providing support to ITSS (IT support specialist) staff and new hires.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require):
Vocational training in computer science, electronics, or related field, and two years of related computer repair experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, lifting, finger dexterity, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts and electrical currents.
