Job Description

The Marblehead Schools are currently seeking candidates for a Tutor for the TLC Program, a special education program in the Marblehead High School. The program is designed to address therapeutic education needs of high school students.

Position: TLC Tutor
Posting Date: MArch 8, 2018

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Work under the direction of a Special Educator with students in a substantially separate program.


• Under the direction of the teacher, modify and implement specialized instruction for students to be provided in small group and/or 1:1
• Ensure that services provided are in compliance with student IEP's while implementing accommodations, goals and objectives
• Implement student behavior plan as needed
• Track and gather data
• Support students within an education setting
• Teach and reinforce organizational skills strategies and foster positive self-esteem and confidence in students
• Provide curriculum support to students
• Be child centered
• Be available for specialized trainings when necessary
• Understand nature and needs of students with disabilities
• Carry out other related special education duties as may be assigned by their supervisor(s)

Bachelor's Degree
ABA Experience, preferred but not required
Experience working with students with disabilities at the secondary level
Experience providing support to students at internship sites
Candidates should have a strong desire to work with students with special needs
