Job Description

Franklin Northeast Supervisory Union is seeking a skilled professional to provide support to classroom special education teachers in the development of discrete trial programs, verbal behavior, training associated with implementing these programs, and data collection to measure progress; to assist in the development of behavior intervention plans, and to collaborate on the development of individual education plans that are based on a variety of assessments. Position will be located at multiple sites within FNESU.

Job Summary:
Provides leadership, analysis, and support in the area of special education Behavior Analysis.
Promotes quality and compliance of programs and services to improve student achievement.
Facilitates the design of quality services for students with autism or other behavior challenges by working with parents, teachers, administrators, staff and students.
Provides supervision hours to other Behavior Specialist seeking their BCBA using the approved sequence designed and monitored through Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides consultation and intervention regarding behavior management, effective education and assessment of behavioral needs of students with and without disabilities.
Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments, or assists in the development of Functional Behavior Assessments.
Designs, implements and monitors behavior intervention plans.
Serves as member of the IEP team for students with behavioral concerns.
Consults with school staff working with student with behavioral needs on behavior management techniques and information on specific student needs.
Provides consultation to parents regarding child development and behavior management techniques as needed.
Conducts professional development on training behavior management, progress monitoring, data collection techniques, social skills or other targeted district needs.
Familiarizes self with most recent research/practice in applied behavior analysis.
Provides social skill lessons and materials to teachers, student groups or individual student as needed.
Designs, implement, and monitor behavior programs for students.
Oversees the implementation of behavior program by others.
Supervises and directs the work of assigned Interventionists and/or Registered Behavioral Technicians.
Assist teachers in designing appropriate instructional programs and environmental settings.
Assists teachers in developing and planning individual modifications for students.
Develops, conducts, or assists with professional learning sessions.
Keeps informed of and complies with Federal, State, and District regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • Qualifications:
      Master's Degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education or related field.
      Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA).
      Must hold VT Educator License with a Special Education or School Psychologist endorsement.
      Experience working with children/adolescents with a variety of psychiatric and/or behavioral disorders, including those on the autism spectrum.
      Experience in providing behavior analytic interventions and assessments.
      Proven leadership in multidisciplinary teaming and overall employee management required.
      Ideal applicants will have knowledge and experience working with and in both education and mental health.
      Candidates must be adept in the development of behavioral modification planning and crisis intervention.
      Ability to demonstrate behavior change through continuous progress monitoring is essential.
      Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
      Strong analytic skills.
      Empathetic, active listening skills required.
      Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
      Knowledge of and experience with various therapeutic intervention methods.
      Proven ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
      Ability to work independently.
      Ability to work as a team member with peers, teachers, campus personnel and Principals.
      Professional demeanor and resourcefulness and the ability to communicate with diverse groups of people.
      Understanding of behavioral principles as they apply to developing individualized education and behavior plans for students with autism spectrum disorder and students with psychiatric and/or behavioral disorders.
      Demonstrates competence in developing data collection systems that can be implemented in the classroom setting.
      Possesses the ability to conduct functional behavioral assessments and design, implement and monitor behavior intervention plans. Understands State and Federal regulations relative to behavioral requirements and students with disabilities.
    • At least 2 year s of relevant experience preferred
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency OR WORK VISA IN United States required
