Job Description

The Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District is accepting applications for a full-time, 2nd Shift Custodian. During the school year the work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 2:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. During the summer the work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M. This position generally works at the Jaffrey Rindge Middle School or Conant High School, though may be District-wide as assigned. Some overtime may be required as needed. This position is eligible for benefits. Pay is based on the Jaffrey-Rindge Support Staff Association wage schedule.

The position of Custodian is responsible for the general, overall cleaning and minor maintenance of all areas as assigned so as to maintain a safe and sanitary facility for students and staff. The District uses green materials to clean buildings. Custodians are trained on the use and proper handling of these materials. Position requirements include, but are not limited to:
Demonstrate a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards students, staff, and the general public
Learn and accomplish tasks with minimum supervision.
Demonstrate the initiative to do routine cleaning and minor repairs.
Dress appropriately.

    Job Requirements

    • • The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 60 lbs.; some climbing and balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 5% sitting, 70% walking, and 25% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and in a generally hazard-free environment.
