Job Description

Lead Co-Teacher in a progressive homeschool with 10-12 kids ranging in age from 6-10. Serra Homeschool is set on a magical seven acre property with an organic farm and extensive resources for nature based experiential learning. This position is full time, with student instruction Monday-Friday 8:30-3:00 pm. The role would require custom curriculum development to meet the unique individual needs of each student. Maintaining a sensitivity to learning differences and multiple intelligences, but also supporting a commitment to academic rigor and excellence. Co teachers will be expected to establish a clear sense of measurable goals and age appropriate benchmarks for each child, as well as community goals and ongoing projects. The educators will be expected to draw inspiration from Reggio Emilia, Montessori and other relevant progressive pedagogies for classroom design and curriculum.

  • Job Requirements

    • Must be passionate about educating and mentoring children, with a depth of experience in the field. The role will require the teacher to engage in a collaborative relationship with a relatively intimate group of students and parents to foster a holistic love for learning. An interest in mindfulness and meditation is a plus, as well as global awareness through world travel or cultural studies. Background in CGI math is preferred.
