Job Description

This position is for the 18-19 school year with a projected start date of November 1, 2018.

The employee in this classification provides instrumental instruction to students in Henrico County Public Schools. The incumbent is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating instruction based on specific goals and objectives established by the Henrico County School Board and administration. The incumbent is supervised and evaluated by the building level administrator. Communicates with parents, students, outside agencies, and personnel in the division of instruction, instructional support services and research, planning and information services.

Essential Duties
  • Delivers the curriculum established by the Henrico County School Board and administration
  • Plans daily instructional activities for all students
  • Assesses and maintains records of students' progress toward reaching goals set by the administration
  • Develops summative tests of students' learning and uses results for further student instruction, grading and placemen
  • Maintains order within the classroom setting
  • Uses the curriculum of the district to plan daily instructional activities
  • Maintains records of student performance and attendance
  • Selects and uses instructional material for classroom
  • Alters instruction to meet group and individual needs as noted by assessment results
  • Communicates with parents, students, and personnel in the division of instruction

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree with endorsement in Music /Instrumental. Eligible per the VDOE to teach Band.
