Special Education Teacher

The Fraser-Ford Child Development Center, owned and operated by Waban, Inc. is a special purpose pre-school and early elementary program serving children ages 3-8 (PreK – Grade 2) in our year-round early intervention day treatment school. Waban is seeking a dedicated, creative, hard-working professional who holds or is eligible for 282 Special Education Teacher Certification at the K-8 level. This professional will oversee the provision of services to a small caseload of students with autism, developmental disabilities and mental health needs, each of whom receives 1:1 or 1:2 support from an Educational Technician/Behavioral Health Professional. Responsibilities include conducting skills assessments, developing teaching plans, collaborating in curriculum planning, providing educational and behavioral services, and overseeing all aspects of classroom management. Through collaboration with the team of professionals which includes Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, and Licensed Clinicians, the Special Education Teacher supervises the Educational Technicians and the delivery of direct instruction in social, behavioral, emotional, functional, and academic skills. FFCDC partners with The New England Center for Children and implements the Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia to contribute to instructional planning. We follow an Applied Behavior Analysis model in our clinically intensive center-based program and provide training, supervision, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Preference given to candidates with special education experience. Candidate must hold or be eligible for 282 Certification.
