Job Description

Rutland Town School seeks an 1.0 FTE teacher for 5th grade English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies.

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes;

Knowledge of elementary and middle school research based best practices
Knowledge of the Common Core Standards and Vermont GE social studies standards
Knowledge and experience of integrating Vermont Proficiencies
Knowledge of proficiency based reporting
Evidence of integrating technology into the learning environment
Experience in or knowledge of a Professional Learning Community
Knowledge of best practices regarding student management protocols
Knowledge of assessments and use of data to inform instruction
Evidence of strong connection with students and families
Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License
Strong communication skills as evidenced through a quality application
Ongoing educational training
The belief that educators ensure learning at a high level for every child
Experience with project-based learning
The ability to create learner-centered environments that cultivate student self-direction
