Job Description

The Stamford Elementary School has an opening for a Media Specialist for the 2018-2019 school year.
This position is 3 days per week, 5.5 hours per day during the school year.


Supervise and manage the school library/media centers. Provide services and resources that allow students to develop skills in locating, evaluating, synthesizing, and using information to solve problems. Serve as teacher, materials expert, technology expert, and curriculum adviser to ensure that library/media center is involved in instructional programs of the school.

Successful candidate must have a strong background in inquiry, reference, children’s and young adult literature, audio visual, computer literacy skills, and digital learning. Ability to collaborate with teachers and positively interact with student population a must. Commitment to the concept of libraries as hubs of learning in inquiry-focused schools. The successful candidate will hold a VT Library-Media Specialist endorsement and ideally would have an Educational Technology Specialist endorsement.
