Job Description

The Special Needs Support Center (SNSC) seeks a full time Program Director. SNSC helps children and adults with special needs, and their families, meet their unique challenges through advocacy and program support. Individuals with special needs can become more fulfilled by enjoying greater independence, developing relationships and feeling empowered to contribute to their communities.The Program Director is responsible for the implementation, management and supervision of programs focused on parent educational support and advocacy, parent groups, and community programs serving children and adults with a broad range of disabilities and chronic medical conditions.

  • Job Requirements

    • • Responsible for data management including compiling and maintaining the monthly, quarterly and annual program statistics.
      • Analyze trends in the program, identifying issues and developing and recommending solutions to the executive director.
      • Develop, implement and evaluate recruitment strategies to expand the number of volunteers to support the programs. Develop and implement training modules for volunteers.
      • Develop and update handbooks for all programs.
      • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to expand the number of clients participating in the program.
      • Contribute to evaluation of and budget development for programs.
      • Respond to phone requests and assess referrals to determine how SNSC will support the parent or related caller.
      • Must possess a strong commitment to collaboration and effective teamwork within the organization and the broader community.
      • Must have experience with children and adolescents with disabilities. Experience within a public education or community-based setting desirable.
      • Must be able to communicate effectively with children and adults with disabilities, family members, case managers, school communities, and community organizations as needed.
      • Must possess the interpersonal skills to engage individuals and families from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
      • Must be able to balance the program needs with available resources.
      • Must be able to take positive action in solving problems.
      • Must be able to remain open-minded and willing to grow on the basis of emerging information.
    • At least 3 year s of relevant experience preferred
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency OR WORK VISA IN United States required
