Job Description

1. Strong leadership: effective organizational, communication, public relations, and

interpersonal skills to lead the school community toward a common vision.

2. Instructional leadership: maintain school-wide focus on high standards of student achievement. Ensure teaching of TEKS.

3. Human resources management: attract and retain high performing staff and comply with all state and federal employment laws.
4. Financial management: establish and maintain a sound budget that complies with all restrictions and reporting requirements.

5. School community development: work with parents and community members to better serve the needs of all students.

6. Operations and risk management: manage all safety, compliance, and administrative processes.

7. Strategic planning: lead long-term strategic planning and medium term process improvement as needed.

8. Board relationships: implement the strategic goals and objectives of the school board and keep them up-to-date on progress.

9. Succession planning: supervise and develop all team members to effectuate the school’s mission and to strengthen the succession pipeline.

10.Parent-school relationship: strategize ways to strengthen the parent-school partnership to increase student achievement.

11.Promotional endeavors: effectively communicate UME Prep’s philosophy, policies, goals and successes to the community.

    Job Requirements

    • Education Required: Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, preferably in Education or a directly related field
      Experience Required: Five years of professional experience in an instructional/supervisory leadership role is preferred
      Certification Required: Valid Texas teacher and principal certificates are preferred

    • At least 5 year s of relevant experience preferred
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency OR WORK VISA IN United States required
