Experience: One year of related work experience in a school setting is preferred.
Education: Hold a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in the appropriate educational field.
Licensure and Certificates: Possession of or ability to obtain the appropriate teaching license and endorsements (if necessary) in assigned area of instruction from the New Mexico Public Education Department. New Mexico offers an alternative path to licensure for those holding a bachelor's degree in a field other than education.

In addition, while performing duties of this job, the employee will constantly stand/walk, bend neck and back, use hands for repetitive grasping and pushing/pulling. The employee is frequently required to use hands for fine manipulation, squat, kneel, knee stand, and push/pull. All GMCS schools are eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).
All Applicants must upload copies of official transcripts or evaluation of foreign transcripts from any and all accredited colleges/universities attended by you for review in order to be considered for this position.
All incentives will be paid out over the course of two school years in four installments. Payment will be made ¼ in December of the first contract year, ¼ in May of the first contract year, ¼ in December of the second contract year and ¼ in May of the second contract year. The incentive will be prorated for hires made after the official work calendar start date but prior to September 30, 2018. Any hires made on or after September 30, 2018 will not be eligible to receive the incentive. Failure to complete the terms of the employment contract will result in the forfeiture of the entire signing incentive. Employees who require immigration sponsorship as a term of employment or are affiliated with Teach for America will not be eligible for the district incentive plan. The recipient must teach in the eligible content area at least halftime and, in the case of special education, the teacher must carry a full case load to receive the incentive.
Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for the signing incentive or free rent, you must be a new employee who was not employed in any capacity by GMCS during the 2017-2018 school year.
