Rising Tide Charter Public School is seeking an English teacher to be a long-term substitute for a middle school English position from mid-March through the end of the 2017-2018 school year. Applicants must have a background in English, experience with middle school students, and an interest in taking an inquiry- and skills-based approach to teaching and learning.

Rising Tide Charter Public School (Rising Tide) is a Massachusetts charter public school. Rising Tide serves approximately 675 students in grades 5-12 from towns in the school’s designated region; the majority of the students are residents of Plymouth. This year is the twentieth year for the school.

Rising Tide is a free public school that provides an academically challenging environment and high standards in a safe, small, and rewarding setting. Teachers develop the curriculum based upon the schoolwide objectives, benchmark skills, and subject area essential questions; the curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts State Frameworks. Teachers are encouraged to utilize an inquiry-based approach for building skills, content knowledge and understanding within the classroom.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include implementing curriculum planned by our full-time faculty when called in on any given day, and working together with the full-time staff to build a supportive school environment.
