POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Immediate Opening for the 2017-2018 School Year

POSITION: Elementary Classroom Teacher, grade 2
START DATE: Immediate
LOCATION: Kalama Elementary School
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1.0 FTE
SALARY: Washington State Teacher Salary Allocation Schedule

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience as a teacher preferred but not require
Proven background of effective communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and staff
Experience and knowledge in the Washington State learning standards
Proven classroom management skills
Prefer primary level education emphasis
Demonstrates effective teacher practices and knowledge of various instructional strategies
Uses multiple student data elements to modify instruction and improve students learning
Exhibits, collaborates and engages in collegial practices
Fosters and manages a safe, positive learning environment
Recognizes individual student learning needs and develops strategies to address those needs

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide clear and focused instruction for all students
Assure successful learning by using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students
Closely monitor student progress by using quality classroom-based assessments
Communicate enthusiasm for learning
Communicate regularly and positively with staff, students and parents
Relate to all students and staff in a positive manner
Maintain professional standards in confidentiality and use of student information
Proactively act as a team member
Promote and practice professional growth and development “Duties and responsibilities may be modified to match the skills and abilities of the successful applicant

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements
