Job Description

Position Summary:

Board Certified Behavior Specialist to provide comprehensive behavior analysis services to students in schools.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification
Master’s Degree in applied behavior analysis (ABA) or a related program
Certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

Experience

Minimum one year working after BCBA certification
Experience working with students with autism, emotional/behavioral disorders, and/or intellectual disabilities
Duties and Responsibilities
Conducted functional behavioral assessments and write reports summarizing results.
Develop positive behavior support plans utilizing evidence-based interventions.
Train staff on positive behavior support plans, instructional programs & monitor fidelity.
Develop tools and work with staff to collect progress-monitoring data on behavioral goals.
Provide ongoing monitoring of student data and make programming adjustments as needed.
Assist in the implementation of individualized services directed toward the development enhancement of skills necessary for emotional, cognitive, behavioral, language, & social goals of the student.
Accurately completes all required documentation and data collection daily.
Assists teachers in developing strategies for reinforcing skills based on understanding of the individual student, his/her needs, interests, and abilities.
Assist teachers in day to day staff training for targeted behavioral needs.
Train teachers to implement antecedent strategies to prevent occurrence of target
behaviors, as well as de-escalation strategies if target behaviors occur
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Maintains high level of ethical behavior / confidentiality
Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

Extensive knowledge with secondary emotional support individuals
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Extensive skills in behavioral assessment and positive behavior support plan development
Extensive knowledge of data analysis - Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Ability to work collaboratively within a team atmosphere
Experience working with students with autism, emotional/behavioral disorders, and/or intellectual disabilities
