    In-Home Assessments

Autism Intervention Specialists creates customized ABA programs that fit the child and individual's needs. Deficit and maladaptive areas are identified through assessment. These areas are then prioritized so that sequential intervention plans can be adopted and implemented. The skills are analyzed in direct and indirect relation to the target or goal behavior which will be broken down to its essential elements so that the intervention program can be personally tailored to the individual's specific needs.

AIS offers in home/office developmental assessments to all children and individuals diagnosed with Autism, Asperger's, and PDD-NOS. Your assessment includes interviewing parents/caregivers while utilizing direct observation of the individual in the natural environment combined with an autism screening test and behavior function determination. After the completion of your developmental assessment, a comprehensive autism intervention program tailored to meet each individual's specific needs will be created. The individual's home environment becomes one of the many settings for our play based, interactive autism program sessions targeting all needs including communication, language, play, and social skills.

At Autism Intervention Specialists (AIS), only scientifically-validated approaches are utilized during the creation of each and every tailor made intervention plan. Our comprehensive program plans are grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Without debate, ABA is the most widely researched and scientifically-validated approach to treating individuals with Autism, Asperger's, and PDD-NOS of all ages. We have found a mixture of highly structured and loosely structured environments to be among the most conducive settings in facilitating progress achieved through effective behavior interventions. The continuous supervision, management, and update of our service programs maintains gains and promotes generalization.

    Parent Training

AIS offers in home parent training sessions as well as in office training to interested parents. We offer an intensive parent education program to teach the facilitation of language/communication, social initiation and interaction, and play skills with family and friends. This program provides you with information regarding Incidental Teaching and finding the right “teaching opportunities” using everyday activities and routines such as dressing, brushing teeth, and eating to promote skill development. Our Parent Training program is specifically designed to teach the accurate approach for managing and eliminating problem behaviors.

    Home Based Program

Our Home Based Program (HBP) will allow you to observe and participate in the implementation of effective behavior approaches designed to manage and decrease maladaptive behaviors while teaching and building upon functional behaviors. Our focus is on children above the age of 3 diagnosed with Autism, Asperger's, or PDD-NOS. Our Parent Training component will guide your independent management of problem behaviors and teach you steps towards sustaining progress, minimizing the potential for future regression.

    Social Skills Groups

AIS’ Socialization Program (SP) will provide reoccurring exposure to others in a group setting where our aim will be facilitating social skills, language skills and development, initiation proficiency, and cooperative play skills. AIS' SP teaches your child appropriate communication and interaction with children around them. We focus on group play, reciprocation, sharing/turn taking, following game rules, and much more. Children's achievement in social situations greatly improves their chances of successful learning where social interaction and understanding are critical. Your child will be placed with similar aged children to teach basic and advanced, general and specific social skills. Incredibly, child-to-staff ratios are 1:1!

    Positive Behavioral Support

Functional communication and social skills, self-management, and coping strategies are taught during our PBS service. PBS services focus on children, teenagers, and adults with autism and related disabilities. If you are experiencing challenging behaviors, communication and social skill deficits, and a lack of academic, age appropriate readiness and adaptive behaviors, Positive Behavior Support services may be right for your child's needs.Speech and Language Services

As part of our comprehensive behavior approach to working with children with autism, we offer a wide variety of treatment options to increase Speech and Language for individuals with developmental language delays. Our ABA professionals and supervisors work together as a team, creating a program that combines the most effective, tailor made ABA interventions to increase and maintain Speech and Language. Speech and Language services will be provided in both the home and social skills groups.

    Community Based Program

Our Community Based Program (CBP) will provide the opportunity to interact with children in a group setting in public environments including zoos, malls, museums, etc. The CBP provides for the opportunity to facilitate and manage public behaviors including but not limited to waiting for preferred items and activities and independently walking close by without running off. The CBP also teaches the management of impulsive behaviors such as screaming, protesting, tantrums, and sensory behaviors stemming from crowded or noisy environments.

AIS offers a multitude of behavior approaches and services to children and adults of all ages. Please contact us today to inquire about one or more of these programs. Learn more about us...
