Role Overview:

The Reading Intervention teacher will work closely with the Special Education team and English teachers to best support students in reading and literacy across all high school grade-levels.

Role Description:

Assist with the development, coordination, and delivery of reading interventions
Administer and interpret assessment data to identify appropriate reading interventions
Monitor, maintain, and submit as needed, accurate records on student achievement
Prepare and delivery explicit, scientifically based reading instruction to small groups of identified students
Track student response to intervention by collecting relevant related data and assessments
Participate in assigned professional development group and City on a Hill’s Peer Observation Program
Attend quarterly parent/advisor nights, graduation, and other required school events; Support Special Education Supervisor, as needed, with Open Houses and Admissions sessions
Additional duties, as assigned by the Vice Principal, or Principal.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 3 year of related experience
Preliminary MA teaching certification or is working toward earning MA certification.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience preferred, particularly in an urban setting
Experience in supporting special education students in English coursework.
SEI or RETELL endorsement
