Job Description

Responsibilities:
• Classroom teaching up to 16 hours (25 periods) per week, plus 4 office hours and other supervisory activities. Total weekly working time is up to 30-35 hours;
• Provide mentoring/tutoring to students who have demonstrated needs;
• Provide guidance to students for various club and community activities.

Salary and Benefits include:
• Salary: 22,000 to 25,000 RMB per month (equivalent to $3,206 to $3,644 USD), or an annual salary of $32,060 to $36,440 USD, based on qualifications.
• Two round-trip international tickets per school year (up to 20,000 RMB or $3,225 USD).
• Housing allowance of 2,400 RMB per month.
• Free shuttle pass to downtown Guangzhou.
• End of academic year bonus (up to 20,000 RMB, equivalent to $3,225 USD).
• Extra end of academic year bonus offered to AP instructors (up to 10,000 RMB, equivalent to $1,625 USD per AP course).
• Holiday bonus (up to 9,500 RMB, equivalent to $1,532 USD).
• Insurance package (2,000 RMB, equivalent to $322 USD).

Employment Dates:
August 15, 2018 – June 30, 2019 (one-year contract for all newly hired teachers, contract is renewable for two more years).

    Job Requirements

    • A qualified candidate will:
      • Have at least a BA degree (a Master’s degree preferred) from an accredited college or university with a major or minor in the specific required area of teaching;
      • Have AT LEAST TWO YEARS of secondary school teaching experience (student teaching may count). AP teaching experience desired;
      • Have a teaching license in the required areas of teaching;
      • Ideally have prior experience or familiarity with Chinese culture and students.
