Job Description


Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS) consists of four small learning communities that support students in their academic, social and civic achievements. Additionally, CRLS teachers are expected to provide curriculum, instruction and assessment that is engaging, academically rigorous, culturally responsive, and aligned to the state curriculum frameworks and district standards. As a result, CRLS teachers are expected to work collaboratively on standards based curriculum, common and alternative/authentic assessments, co-teaching within inclusion classrooms and differentiated instructional strategies for diverse learners including ELL and special education students. 



Teach three sections of 11th grade honors biology classes.  CRLS science teachers will be knowledgeable about science curriculum in Cambridge and the Next Generation Science Standards. The teacher will use technology as a tool in science instruction and teach it as a discipline to explore application of science concepts.


Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in science. Massachusetts Licensure Level 8-12 Biology preferred. The teacher will be knowledgeable about and familiar with effective instructional techniques for science and technology based on learning principles that derive from systemic research and from well-tested practice in the education of adolescents. The teacher can use cooperative learning strategies in a science classroom and can engage students actively in learning science. The teacher must be familiar with and able to demonstrate knowledge of the academic and social needs of adolescents. Significant science teaching experience in an urban, multi-cultural school system.  Experience teaching grades 9-12.
