Job Description

This individual will oversee the Action, Inc.’s Education and Training Programs to include Adult Education, Youth Education Services, Health Care Training and any new programs that might be developed. This individual will be responsible for researching and developing new educational opportunities and seeking grants for such programs, in order to provide employment opportunities for residents of Cape Ann.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Oversee staff to ensure smooth operation of all programs;
• Outreach and recruitment within the community for enrollment in educational
• Seek opportunities to expand educational and training opportunities;
• Collaborate with the Marketing & Planning Department to research, write, and administer grants for the Education and Training Center to work towards creating a sustainable budget;
• Collaborate with HOPWA case manager to coordinate job training and education services to program participants;
• Maintain enrollment and outcome goals to ensure grant compliance. Provide reports for all grants;
• Responsible for student eligibility, enrollment, completion and follow-up;
• Monitor student portfolios and ensure documentation of student progress is updated;
• Work with teachers to enhance curriculum and to ensure it engages students in learning;
• Coordinate with Academic/Career Counselor to provide college and career readiness activities, opportunities and, information; provide assistance with financial aid applications, SAT assistance, etc.;
• Work with Academic/Career Counselor to strategically improve attendance, and reduce barriers to success through incentives and intervention;
• Work with community partners to ensure students gain access to all opportunities and services available to them, including the court, schools, WIB, DCF, housing authority and other social service providers;
• Represent Agency at WIA Youth Vendor Meetings and other local network collaboration;
• Oversee daily activities; respond to all daily matters;
• Act as liaison between local high schools, businesses, colleges and educational institutions;
• Monitor behavior, enforce rules and handle disciplinary procedures
• Provide student/staff mediation;
• Record data and outcome analysis;
• Oversee volunteers and interns to ensure that appropriate boundaries are maintained, confidentiality of participants is maintained, and all professional standards of the agency are met;
• Maintain up to date files on all staff, volunteers and interns;
• Attend and participate in departmental, organization-wide and other meetings;
• Act in the best interest of the organization, reflecting the values of team work, collaboration and mutual respect;
• Other duties as assigned.
