MISSION of La Salle Academy:
La Salle Academy has as its mission the education of young men and women of diverse backgrounds, with a special concern for the working class and the poor, in the tradition of St. John Baptist De La Salle’s ideals of faith, service, and community, in a Catholic college preparatory school.

Job Description
The coach is directly responsible to the Athletic Administrator and Principal. (In the case of an assistant coach, he/she is responsible to the head coach)

Applicants must be available for duty throughout the season. This will include any games for which the team might be eligible. Practice sessions are held daily.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES (Varsity and JV Programs)

1. Teach fundamentals and skills

2. Organize practice sessions

3. Provide for prevention and care of injuries

4. Conform to the rules established by the Rhode Island Principals Committee on Athletics

5. Teach rules and regulations of the sport

6. Display christian values, good sportsmanship and leadership characteristics

7. Responsible for issuing, maintaining and collecting of equipment

8. Supervision of team members at all times

REQUIREMENTS

The coach should have a complete knowledge of the sport. Experience at the secondary or college level is desired requisite and previous coaching experience will be strongly considered.

5. Concussion in Sports

1. Ability to establish rapport with athletes on the team

• Can articulate their coaching practices in a detailed way;
• Have knowledge of their own personal strengths and weaknesses; and
• Have an ability to interact with others.

Application Requirements:
1) Candidates should determine their certification eligibility prior to applying for employment.

2) Only completed application packets will be reviewed.

3) All completed application packets must contain three (3) current letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be provided by a supervisor.

4) All completed application packets must contain a copy of a current First Aid Card and CPR Card.
