Job Description

JOB GOAL : Perform specific procedures and duties to assist in ensuring a neat and clean appearance throughout the facility, and to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.


Clean bathrooms including toilets, sinks and mirrors; walls and shower stalls, faucets and hardware, windows and floor mats in showers.
Dust walls, ceilings, stairs, handrails, furnishings, dry mop floors, vacuum rugs when assigned.
Replenish supplies as needed, including toilet paper, brown hand towels and soap in dispensers.
Visually check for other maintenance problems (e.g. plugged drain or toilet, light out, window not working, no heat).
Keep housekeeping cart clean and stocked with supplies, solutions, keep locked away when not in use.
Clean any litter or spills.
Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager such as washing walls and windows during school break.
Consistently meet the minimum performance standards, as determined by the Plant Manager, at a competent and dependable level.
Report to work on time, and as scheduled.
Effectively support and interact with all levels of staff in a business-like and respectful manner.
Communicate with students with respect and dignity.
Perform laundry duties including sorting, washing, folding and distributing laundry for residential students.


Lift without assistance on a frequent basis.
Pull/push wheeled housekeeping carts throughout the buildings.
Bend, stoop, climb, reach, push, pull, use full body mechanics, including hands, fingers, and feet.
Stand/ sit for periods of time as task requires.
Withstand variations of temperature, range of noise and varying odors.
Have good vision, hearing and ability to take and understand instructions.
Ability to work in a multi-cultured environment.

    The many activities during the Day and Residential Programs are designed to make full use of the site by all of the students.
