Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university in communication, visual arts or related field;
  2. Exceptional graphic design skills;
  3. Seasoned background in photography and ability to work with Nikon cameras;
  4. Understanding of social media and ability to build engagement across multiple platforms
  5. Writing skills preferred;
  6. HTML proficiency preferred;
  7. Public education experience, preferred;
  8. At least three (3) years work experience in graphic design/visual media preferred;
  9. Computer proficiency required in desktop publishing; Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop;
  10. Demonstrated proficiency on Macintosh computers;
  11. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple assignments, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality essential;
  12. Demonstrated strong work ethic / organizational skills; and
  13. Sound judgment and decision-making skills.

  

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Annual Contract: 250 days

 

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

$54,789 BA 3

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2017-2018

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Build an in-house graphic library by creating new images for district publications, social media channels and broadcasts.
  2. Design graphics for publications, social media and the district website.
  3. Take photos at district events to enhance graphic and social media content.
  4. Manage a freelance staff and budget to ensure thorough coverage of after-hours events.
  5. Responsible for producing designated district publications.
  6. Assist other departments with producing brochures/flyers.
  7. Coordinate the printing of selected publications with the district print center.
  8. Research and gather information for ongoing communication projects.
  9. Perform related duties as assigned by the director for communication and the assistant director for communication.

Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.
