Job Description

What You Will Do

  • Support 7th & 8th graders in high school preparation daily (school day: 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM M, T, Th, F and 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM Wed.)
  • Ensure all ~100 8th grade scholars enter top-performing high schools that will prepare them for college
  • Direct all program offerings related to high school placement for current scholars and follow-on tracking and support for alumni
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships and partnerships with high schools, scholarship organizations, prep programs, and funders
  • Teach high school preparation courses to 7th and 8th grade classes of approximately 25 scholars (a total of ~200 scholars)
  • Tailor high school placement options to meet individual scholar and family needs
  • Communicate frequently with families of scholars you serve
  • Engage in additional school-wide responsibilities, such as lunch/recess duty, hallway posts, events committees, etc.
  • Manage time, tasks, deadlines and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Receive continuous feedback from peers and school leaders on your practice and be expected to give the same

  • Exhibit an unwavering commitment to high academic achievement and character development in our scholars
  • Be on campus from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM daily
  • Attend and support monthly Family Nights/events that invite families into the building
  • Other duties as required to fulfill our mission in the lives of our scholars


You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years experience in admissions, high school placement, college application processes, and/or college-bound programming
  • 1+ years of experience working with children in historically underserved communities


It Would Be Nice for You to Have

  • Master’s degree
  • 1+ years of K- 12 teaching experience
