Job Description

The Pembroke Public Schools is looking for a Long Term Substitute French/Latin Teacher to cover a maternity leave at the middle school. The position is available on or around April 14, 2018. Interviews will begin immediately and the position will remain open until filled.

The successful candidate will possess
- MA Educator License appropriate to the field and level of the position.
- Content knowledge, linguistic fluency, and ability to provide instruction aligned with the Massachusetts world Language Standards.
- Experience and knowledge of best practices for teaching and strong organizational skills.

    Job Requirements

    • You will be responsible for planning and delivering instruction and will collaborate with the World Language Department on common, proficiency based assessments. You will have the opportunity to:

      1. Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives
      2. Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner
      3. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
      4. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
      5. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
      6. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide feedback and progress reports as required
      7. Participate in shared building responsibilities
      8. Effectively implement district initiatives
      9. Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers
    • At least 3 year s of relevant experience preferred
    • Master degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency OR WORK VISA IN United States required
