Program Description:
Meadowridge Academy is a 36 bed, private 766 approved therapeutic boarding school that specializes in trauma-informed services for adolescents with complex trauma histories, mental health issues, educational challenges, and/or behavioral difficulties. At Meadowridge Academy, support is provided for students with all levels of functioning who may have learning disabilities as well as medical fragility. We provide comprehensive care including an on site school, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and 24 hour direct care supervision. We utilize a unique ARC (Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency) treatment framework which focuses on building individual capacities for emotion regulation, personal strengths, and healthy relationships. Our mission is to protect and support our students while developing their strengths and teaching them skills.

Job Description:
Meadowridge Academy is seeking a full time Master's Level Education Director (certification or eligibility as Special Education Administrator and/or Principal) who is a dynamic and astute individual to join our school. The Education Director will create and maintain a strong liaison with all student collaterals and caregivers by participating in education-related treatment meetings, compiling quarterly progress reports and attendance reports, and administering specialized testing. The Education Director will ensure compliance with IEP’s and special education laws. The Education Director will oversee the school day operations and curriculum development. The Education Director will lead the education team through class observations, individual supervisions, and department meetings. The Education Director will have a specialized interest in the impact and treatment of complex trauma and will be motivated to learn and integrate the concepts of ARC throughout the adolescent’s therapeutic programming, including spending time modeling the framework on the floor. The Education Director will work collaboratively with the student’s treatment team to develop strength-based, trauma-informed individualized plans to assure maximum opportunities for each student’s success.

Requirements:
Educational experience working with adolescents in a trauma informed setting, preferably experience in a residential school, excellent communication skills, and strong leadership skills. At least two years of teaching experience, and at least one year in administration of Special Education Services. Supervisory experience and experience working with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, with Common Core Standards, and expertise with IEP development, implementation, and reporting. Authorized MCAS Administrator preferred. Strong understanding of federal, state, and municipal laws and regulations affecting schools, staff, and students. Masters of Education degree. Educator license in Moderate Disabilities or related field, preferred. Certification or eligibility as Special Education Administrator and/or Principal.
