    Job Requirements

      Supervise nursing personnel and provide medical supervision of students within the district and monitor operations in accordance with state-approved policies, procedures, and guidelines.
      Work with district administrators, school principals, staff, parents, and various public agencies to maintain and enhance the quality of nursing care within the district.
      Perform administrative or managerial functions, such as taking responsibility for a unit’s staff, budget, planning, or long-range goals.
      Conduct annual evaluations of nursing personnel within the district.
      Be responsible for the assignment of nurses to specific schools within the district.
      Coordinate district in-service training for staff.
      Consult with institutions or associations regarding issues or concerns relevant to the practice and profession of nursing.
      Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
      Administer medications to students and monitor them for reactions or side effects.
      Record students’ medical information and vital signs.
      Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in students’ conditions.
      Be responsible for the purchase, allocation, and inventory of all medical supplies for district health rooms.
      Work with nurses, staff, and parents in the development of individual health care plans for students with chronic health care needs.
      Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.
      Adhere to all policies of the District.
      Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

      Associate’s Degree Required, Field of Study: Nursing
      Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, Field of Study: Nursing
      Master’s Degree Preferred, Field of Study: Nursing

      Nursing experience required with experience as a Head School Nurse preferred for this position.

      Computer Skills:
      Shall be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with computers and programs associated with the position.
      Certifications & Licenses:
      Must have current Arkansas Registered Nurse license with CPR certification.

      Other Requirements:

      Successful completion or pre-employment background checks.
      Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times around students, staff, and the general public.
